Proposed Hybrid Series
 * Our current model has IGF-USA providing one long day of informative sessions at a venue in Washington DC. To better reach areas in the US and get closer to where more tech is happening, we need to be relevant in other locations. It is proposed that for 2024 we offer a series of hybrid “mini” events in different locations (including DC).
Features and benefits:
 * Partial day for 2-3 sessions (panels, fireside chats, some combo), hosted in a small venue with a networking event tied to it.
 * Use smaller venues we can get as in-kind contribution or for smaller budget
 * All still available online
 * Target sessions close to where the experts are doing the work, rather than assume everyone comes to DC
 * Could also seek hosts for ‘remote viewing parties’ to increase networking opportunities
 * Gives us activity throughout the year
 * Better for maintaining interest and attention in short bursts (if not a whole day)
 * No overlapping sessions, each gets ample attention
 * Provides more avenues to promote our work
 * Gives us the opportunity to be responsive to new developments throughout the year

  • Suggestion: Controversy is good
  • Suggestion: Sort by topics, pick a lead, and let others merge into that.
  • Suggestion: Agility in picking timely and locally hot topics
  • Committee is not constrained to these proposals
  • Internet Governance - at least 1
  • Access & Digital Inclusion - not connectivity - digital cash / equity $$ in BEAD ?
