• Agreed to record meeting for internal use.
• SOI discussion. Without getting too formal, it is important to know, on both SC and PC, the affiliation and interests of the participant. SOI should not be a barrier, rather it is a reminder to all of us of interests that may affect each other's statements and decisions. At this point it is considered sufficient to ask the question at the start of each meeting and record relevant interests.
• Venue search
  • Focus on Museum of American Revolution Contact has been made, Ron following up.
  • Need to confirm date of 9 Sept.
    • Does it matter that it is the same time as the next in person MAG Meeting? Does it matter that we cannot have MAG Chair or IGF Secretariat there?
    • The week afterwards is good for some but not all SC members
  • Need to confirm availability
• Decision to form a Program Committee confirmed
  • To focus on substantive session Session II
  • SC to refine plan for
    • Session I. Update on the current state of IGF especially in IGF
    • Session III. Discussion of direction for IGF-USA
• Discussion of Budget tabled till next meeting
• Announcement. Need to start.
  • Discussed Using design contributed by Burt (have fixed url) as base
  • As soon as possible, put out a message such as “We are back,” or a “Save the Date” Message or something similar (informing of early September).
• There was a discussion of possibly having a sponsored Lunch and need to look for a possible contributor. One possibility was mentioned, follow up necessary.

Current Plan/Status

The current tentative plan, discussed briefly in the Steering Committee but yet to be planned by the Programme Committee (PC), includes:

• A 2/3 or 1/2 day event in Philadelphia on 9 September 2026
  • Arguments made in favor of the longer day, e.g. ⅔ day. Included: makes the trip worth the time, allows those travelling from further to have dinner or other socialization night before, allows time for a post session social event
• The event will be available both online and onsite (hybrid).
• The initial plan is to have 2-3 sessions:
  • Review of the IGF environment and scope in 2026
  • Discussion of what the US community wants to do with IGF-USA moving forward
  • Discussion and recommendation of one substantive issue based on IGF 2026 priorities; e.g., within the IGF theme:.

• Ron da Silva made a short presentation, June 24, at the NRI portion of the IGF MAG. Resurrection of the IGF0USA was well received.
• Recover the secretariat function, including accounts. with ISOC-DC (Ron, Judith)

• Solicit suggestions from SC for people to approach for the PC. Judith Hellerstein sent names to Ron daSilva of people interested in joining the Programming Committee. Other SC members are invited to do likewise. Would like to settle on a list of names to invite after the meeting on the 9th.
